The newly developed Barker Sentinel side-curtain features in-built maintenance-free stainless steel straps.  These lock into position using unique 'strapless' pre-tensioned (tamper proof) buckles.

And the results are amazing!

To achieve the necessary load restraint the Barker Sentinel trailer has pockets sewn into the curtain every 600mm.  Inserted into the pockets are stainless steel straps, all of which are secured to the trailer's roof and coaming.

Opening and closing, the fully approved load restraint curtain, involves the same standard manual operating procedure, so there are no expensive electronics or hydraulics to maintain.

Each stainless steel strap is individually attached to the curtain's top rollers located in the specially developed Barker roof track design.  To secure the straps, once the curtain is closed, the operator simply locks the pre-tensioned and tamper-proof, 'strap-free' buckles in place, in the allocated sections of the coaming.

No threading of the buckles is required.  It's just a simple, fast and trouble-free procedure.

The curtains have been fully tested to meet the Australian requirements of 0.5g side force and .3g lift force, including ones designed to suit drop-deck trailers.  They are also low maintenance because of the stainless steel componentry and as there are no gates to handle, there are no OH & S issues or accompanying insurance injury claims to worry about.
